It was a nice sunny day with a bunch of nice folks. Five rigs met at The Flying J at 8:00 a.m. and the rest showed up at the Mt. Diablo Park Entrance. Leonard Mederios was waiting with a box of donuts, for all to enjoy. Fifteen riders took off into the hills - trails were good, everything was still fresh and green with lots of wildflowers on the slopes. We picnicked in a shaded area along the stream where we ate our lunch and watched the condors? ... buzzards? ... it was debatable. We received an educational lesson from Michael King about the history of the State Park. Some of us laid down on the ground and enjoyed some relaxing moments. On the way out we saw wild turkeys and rode through a lot of little streams. Back at the trailers we visited a bit more, watered the horses and then said our farewells until next time
